I would say yes, but more along the lines of Alone in the Dark. The zombies cannot be killed, most of them exhibit extreme psychic/paranormal qualities, and the zombies don't follow normal rules for zombies (EG the zombie that has been shooting a pistol at a wall for close to a year)

Rain shouldn't hurt solar panels if that's what your asking.

I'd say cover all your bases with a mix of energy producing appliances like you originally intended. The know-how to repair a wind turbine is far more accessible and possible with tools you have. Once a solar panel goes bust there's not much more it can do than look pretty and I've heard they have to be recycled after 10-15 years because they lose their efficacy and it's expensive to do because it contains environmentally damaging material.
The battery setup it turns out is not just a pile of car batteries, it's a damned huge thing like they use on forklifts connected to more of itself with regulators etc for a constant supply of electricity to your home.

Also I'd say having light and warmth is a good priority to have because just being able to survive would SUUUUCK you have to have enough diversion to want to live.

Thanks for suggesting this comic. I think there's a bit too much text per page some of the time but I like her character design. The page with the first zombie in the diner is really cool. Her style definitely improves as the comic goes on too.

I didn't draw mine in paint by the way, The style develops quite a bit over the first 20-30 pages, since I've been doing it for a couple of years.

Fir enough if you think it's too simple but I didn't want to spend ages on every page because I'm updating it twice a week.

I love bows; during term-time, I shot every tuesday and saturday for two hours since 13 through to my graduation.

With the luxury of a homestead environment, I would choose the compound. The arrow would be heavier, carry more impact even with comparable penetration. And if things got ugly, I could reload and loose twice as fast and even have the luxury to breathe out.

But in SHTF situation,I would not choose a compound or a crossbow. I would use a takedown recurve (with iron sights) or longbow. I'd hate to think what mud and moisture would do to the moving parts over a the period of a year, a third of which would be raining.

And on the road, with all your kit and supplies, I'd hate to be carrying around a contraption that doesn't change shape, fragile high-performance, precision contraption. If I could, I'd avoid the ironsights till hunting sessions.


Arrows: I've not made my own arrows before, but I've been told then can shatter with the high-performance , high poundage bows of today. Carrying around anything more than 20 arrows for a week on top of your gear would start to annoy me. Archery is really a homesteader's tool.

People reload their own ammo all the time. It's not uncommon at all.

A regular gunshot would for a couple miles at least, yes. That's why you get a suppressor. Yes I realize a suppressor is not a "silencer" that makes your gun dead silent like it does in the movies, but it does keep the sound from carrying as far. On top of that, a suppressed bullet shot past a tree at a distance, for example, would make it sound like it was coming from the tree, not from the shooter. That's the point of a suppressor.

tl;dr a suppressor will make it sound like it's coming from a different direction and won't carry as far.

That will be a ways down the road, but if society falls...which the idea of a Zombie Apocalypse kinda demands...the supply of ammo is going to be finite.

That said, as long as the ammo DOES hold out, I will be using a firearm. And I'm totally with you on the use of suppressors. I can't make one myself, but I know guys with the tools, the materials, the skills, and the plans. Those guys will never want for employment once all the ATF cocksuckers are walking corpses shambling around looking for brains to eat.

Plants natural grow here, but it don't seem good for an intensive plantation.

Husbandry should work, some sort of extensive agriculture if we find the good plants but in this case, we have to remove trees and that's a lot of work.

Give this man a cookie. Doesn't have any bridges, which is good. Bridges may seem like easy enough to defend, but really, I call bullshit on supply runs.

During WWII, putting the royal family on a boat is a bad idea. If the London population try to eat royal brains, with the few survivors knowing there is a lot of food in the palace, it is a good idea.

They will probably stay, I think that with power come some sort of honor and they may prefer to die than to left the place. If they leave, the situation would be far more explicit for the survivors in the commonwealth. If I had to write a fiction, I would make them leave. In "reality" they will probably stay.

What is sure is, if they manage to survive, and they have good chances, they will be in a good position to unite people after the happening.

If we remove the bridge, Venice can be acceded only by sea. They built the city on the sea so it need a naval battle to access the city. With some modern weapons and few good ships, trained troops can protect the city from literally anything except a modern army.
