Some very overlooked tools I have. I think a decent amount of practice spent rake picking goes a long way. I'm not a locksmith but having the option to quietly get into locks is essential. I prefer gerbers to leatherman for price reasons. Still a great tool

Hey guys, greetings from Germany. I´ve fairly little experience in this, so I´´ll try to explain my choices.

Lots of durable foods. Water shouldn´t be a problem.

Short weapon is 9mm, because I expect this type of ammo to be more often available than more exotic types.

I guess 21 kilos is guite a load to wear... so no armor of course which might slow you down.

Night vision sounds kind of futuristic, but with electricity down and dark nights, this might come in handy.

Rifle is supposed to be sturdy, well stocked in terms of ammo.

Besides that: camouflage! All clothing is supposed to be difficult to spot in local fauna.

UK (Wales) reporting in. First time postan:

First thing I'd do is raid the local shooting school for a shotgun (the choke is a very long shot but would be very handy imo). Along with that I'd try and obtain the riot armour from a local police force. I could barter for it if needed.

I chose two types of ammo because I have a feeling slug rounds will be easier to obtain from the shooting school and also be useful in looting locked buildings.

Most of the survival/hygene gear I already own, getting hold of the iodine from a school and the med bag from the local Boots. Map would change depending on where I headed (whether alone or in a group.)

The boiler suit is just a place-holder - on the one hand it would be practical and easy enough to take care of, but really I'd probably just have a cozy jumper and some worn in jeans. The storm cloak, hat, boots and kefyeh would come from a milsurp store in the neighbouring city. The facemask and goggles I own, they're really for dealing with hordes to protect from blood spray etc.

Honestly the only problem is a watch. I'd be using my phone for as long as there were car batteries or any sort of other power around, but after that I'd find a decent one on a zombie or a corpse, since fuck going into the city center to a shop.

Un-shown here is a fucktonne of batteries and a multimeter. The meter would help with various things such as testing buildings for power, setting electric traps and sorting out the whole car battery for power thing. You can use a pencil as a resistor to make it into a near standard current (will find tutorial if anyone wants it.)

I'd try to round my niggas from a certain underground circle and begin a new civilization centralized in natural leadership with urban applied sociology instead of politics and marketing. From there recruit those who are deemed good and loyal enough.

I'd become something like a philosopher king of the wastes, however, instead of sitting on my comfy ass fort like a dorf, I'd create several trap filled forts in secret or hard to find locations. Tunnels, roads and passages would be controlled by me. I'd put spies on every faction I could, and direct those that are too dangerous towards their doom.

If I succeed in this endeavor, my first overt move will be to eliminate all the rider gangs in an area the size of California in three days.

And call me Santa because if you have been good boys and girls someone may drop a cache of raider contraptions and weapons at your doorstep.

Clearing out an area the size of California in 3 days of all gangs etc.? California itself is larger than some nations, has absolutely massive urban concentrations in certain parts, tons of wilderness and places to hide, etc. etc.

Sorry to break it to you, but if the US military was at full strength during a full blown zombie apocalypse, there's no way even they could clear an area the size of california in three days.

You could maybe do it if the whole area was deserts or plains, with few cities or towns.

I realize this is just havin fun making shit up, ive enjoyed reading this discussion greatly,and at its core there is fun to be had here.Zombies are humans and subject to human faults even in death and to try and quantify it is absurd.
