The happening will not be the same in every place of the world. People will react differently, have different culture etc. I tried to make a list of the country that will have the best chance to survive a zombie invasion.

This is the first time I try to make this list so there is a lot of things to fix in it. If you see some mistakes or things I forgot to mention, please add them.

1) Best Korea
+ the country is literally designed to resist a zombie apocalypse.
+ guns and heavy arty everywhere
+ bitten people will be shot without hesitation
+ they don't trade with others nation
+ lot of mountain and forest
+ Great Leader

2) Switzerland
+ the country is literally designed to resist a zombie apocalypse.
+ all citizen have a long rifle and know how to use it
+ extremely disciplined population
+ bunkers everywhere
+ Alps

3) small islands on the ocean that can produce food
+ small chance of ever seeing a zombie
- no more tourism/money from the mainland
- cannot import things they need like oil or tools
- will have to wait years before the end of the outbreak to see a ship again
- if the island can't really produce food, they will only find ruins

4) post Yugoslavia countrys
+ people know how to live with war
+ they all have weapons at home
+ in some place, more bunkers than is Switzerland
- bandits. Bandits everywhere
- another genocide, from the kebab or against

5) Mother Russia
+ very long distance, zombies have to walk for thousands kilometers
+ full of russian folks with russian way of life
+ they still have all the cold war conventional weapons and tanks
+ Russian winter. Napoleon and Hitler failed, do you really think dead walking corpses have a chance?
- USSR is gone, the west of Russia will follow the fate of Europe

6) Venice
+ can destroy the bridge
+ easy to defend
+ have a lot of money to buy food just before the happening
+ private guards will kill all rich people the first day and establish a military junta
- when food is running low, they will have to go on the ground

7) Afghanistan
+ full of mountain
+ lot of guns
+ population don't know what peace look like
+ stopped every empire since Alexander
+ all cultivable soil are now used for food, will produce more food than needed
- warlords
- religion in a nutshell

8) Germany
+ discipline
+ arbeit hard
- using guns is the kind of things nazis do
- pussified like no one before

9) France
+ population have decent guns
+ hunting traditions
+ no surrendering possible, have to fight to death
+ lot of good forts like Mont St Michel or Vauban fortress
+ army will turn into imperial guard once again
- civil war and revolutions will happen
- government will change every few mounts
- big city are doomed

10) USA! USA! USA!
+ full of black and latino gangs
+ rednecks
+ "well organized" militias
- all these groups are going to kill you
- cops and national guard will turn into looter (see what happened after Katrina)
- massive looting

11)Mexico
+ narcos will take care of the zombies and bitten people
- government is now official run by a narco gang. What changes? A national gang war.

12) Canada
+ larges distances and huge innawood capability
+ René-Levasseur Island in the middle of the wood
+ civilized people
+ serious winter, annual purge of zombies
+ lot of small island
- noguns
- USA is near (would be just after Russia if it wasn't for millions of american refugees, gangs and looters)

9000) Australia
+ far from everything
+ once zombies are in the country, there are still far from everything
+ city are easy to flee
+ you can spot a zombie hours before is is at range
- local wildlife turning into zombie. You don't want to see that.

9001) Madagascar
-there is a lot of ports and they won't all close

9002) black continental Africa
- the embryonic state will collapse leaving only tribal culture
- nothing else will change

United Kingdom
+ Island Nation (once the channel tunnel is blown up)
+ Plenty of medieval castles/forts capable of resisting the horde
+ Hadrian's + Antonine's Walls can be used to trisect the country with defensive lines
+ (Northen) Ireland provides a handy fall-back position to another island nation if overwhelmed
+ The monarchy has always been a strong morale booster for the populace in times of crisis
- Guns are in short supply outside the forces
- Immigrants will likely bring the infection with them
- Created the rage virus (your chances of survival just decreased exponentially)

Given all the modern transportation capability, UK is too big to be considered an island.

If the disease can go from one side of Atlantic to another with a bitten airplane passenger, the Chanel in not going to protect you. Even if it is contained, the people of continental Europe will seek asylum and there is always one to be bitten.

Isle of Man is small enough and can have a mix of agriculture/herd/fishing but it is too close from the mainland.

Monarch probably won't stay in the middle of London. The Navy have what they need to protect the kings/lords/ultrarichs. If they stay, guards will shoot at sight so there is not a lot of moral boost.

The old walls would be interesting to see during the zombie invasion. If it can stop english warriors, it can also stop dead english fatty, but who will stand on the wall?

I should include population density. This totally fuck Japan and Indonesia and save Mongolia/Kazakhstan.

Whilst I can't really disagree, I would strike Venice from the list for similar reasons reason. I would consider it much easier to get to for the layman (and common zombie) unless he had use of a plane. (Plus the whole city is sinking).

They'd probably flee but are you aware that the Royal family did stay in Buckingham Palace during the blitz of WW2, even when the palace was being bombed? But I digress, the Monarchy would boost morale simply by providing a figure head for everyone to rally behind and nothing gets the common man more riled up for battle than screaming "for Queen and country!", say what we will, as a living figure-head for people to gather behind the Queen of England is beaten only by the Pope (but that's only because he's backed by the big G). So really this should apply to the whole commonwealth but she lives in England.

Really though, for all the ifs there's a but, we'd all be fucked over anyway.

During WWII, putting the royal family on a boat is a bad idea. If the London population try to eat royal brains, with the few survivors knowing there is a lot of food in the palace, it is a good idea.

They will probably stay, I think that with power come some sort of honor and they may prefer to die than to left the place. If they leave, the situation would be far more explicit for the survivors in the commonwealth. If I had to write a fiction, I would make them leave. In "reality" they will probably stay.

What is sure is, if they manage to survive, and they have good chances, they will be in a good position to unite people after the happening.

If we remove the bridge, Venice can be acceded only by sea. They built the city on the sea so it need a naval battle to access the city. With some modern weapons and few good ships, trained troops can protect the city from literally anything except a modern army.

Pity not to see Siberia on the list:
+No population = no zombies.
+No need for bunkers, nobody is coming for you 500 miles over tough terrain to steal three turnips.
+You can grow everything by yourself
-It's hard, and it's cold, but that's life, deal with it.
+-You might end up living alone, but isn't that what you WANT from a zombie apocalypse?

Already mentioned in Russia.
Siberia is in the best part to resist zombies, but take care another Horde isn't going to fuck you again.
There was more people living in Siberia than in Kazakhstan before Genghis Khan. Being alone and far from everything have its drawbacks.
