So after not playing this game or coming here for 5 years, I decided to go log back in and go back to our mansion, there are a bunch of squatters in here.

This is a serious problem.
>Does anyone still play this

Shambler 13/10/21(Mon)21:23 No. 4850 ID: a4d513

Stopped playing years ago but I still return every year or so to see whats going on.

It seems to just be zombies and ruins everywhere, humans can hardly survive or rebuild with the dwindling numbers so its pretty meh.

Kevan hasnt updated anything in years and player numbers have dropped. Its a shame really because back in 2008 it was super fun, especially when they opened the first new map.

Been occupying a radio tower since '06 and doing my darnedest to keep it running and the zombies out. Until I turn, in which case I'm trying to keep everyone out.

Gave up after the other two maps died.

Absolutely nothing happening up in Southall mansion, only other /zom/ member there is OP who hasnt been doing much either.

I'm heading down to Pitneybank and the surrounding suburbs. Traditionally the main area of conflict, its still one of the most dangerous suburbs. As a Necrotech reviver I'll probably give me the most to do.

Is that one of those islands? Might be cool if you want to let anybody in.

Wow I remember playing this back in 07, when there were dozens of us in some of the buildings at certain times. Amazing game, glad I happened to be passing through at the moment of popularity.

This game stopped being updated a million years ago. Everybody moved on the Nexus War. Nowadays what's left of the community is on Nexus Clash, the watered down offshoot of NW

Even if the game's dead I'ma try it out.

Update for anyone who checks this abysmally slow board. I just started playing the game, and while I can imagine it's not as busy as it was in it's heyday, it's far from dead. Military reports are still being updated, people and zombies are still out in force. I had to evacuate the area I started in because a horde rolled in.

That's shocking. I honestly don't see the point, like, at all, considering you max out at level 40, and there's no endgame content. At least in Nexus Clash you have the faction warfare between guilds, with capture the flag, which results in "Renown" that you can spend upgrading your faction's stronghold. Urban Dead is just a never ending cycle of eating people, looking for bullets, shooting zombies, getting eaten, coming back to the human side, looking for bullets, shooting zombies, getting eaten.

It's honestly really sad to see because this game, back in it's heyday, was fucking huge. But, seeing as you're a first time player, apparently, I should point out Urban Dead used to have a graphics mod for Firefox, which added art to the tiles, inventory etc. It really, truly made the game so much more playable. Pic related

It's also a shame Nexus War closed down. That game was the shit, the pinnacle of Action Point, browser based gaming. Had a Java client that would auto-update player movement on the maps, you didn't have to refresh the page constantly etc.

The Alpha test of the newest Nexus Clash certainly reminds me of it, but at the moment it's quite incomplete. You can check it out yourself at https://alpha.nexuscla.sh/

That's what Nexus War used to be like. Only less buggy. I look forward to seeing it finished and released, assuming bob gets off his ass and works on the god damn game.

For me, gaming have always been a very significant method of producing money for a livelihood. For example, I love to play in a casino, but in this sector it is extremely vital to read evaluations https://aucasimile.com/ about the slots you will play. I trust the site and read the reviews here.

It's time for the reunion. All /zom/ report to Southall Mansion for tea and crumpets.
