Get ready for gun control like you've never seen before in this country. This is the beginning of the end for private gun ownership in the United States.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/127/text

>Make the location of all persons owning firearms and where they're kept public information. Like the sex offender registry.

>Require ALL gunowners to undergo a psychological evaluation conducted to ensure that the individual is psychologically suited to possess a firearm.

>Allows the psychologist (appointed by the Attorney General) to make a discretionary call to investigate further, which would entail interviewing all members of your household, any spouse of the individual, any former spouse of the individual, and at least 2 other persons who are a member of the family of, or an associate of, the individual to further determine the state of the mental, emotional, and relational stability of the individual in relation to firearms.

>Allows the Attorney General to revoke your license for any number of reasons and require you to give them all firearms AND ammo

>Make the age to own a gun 21

>Require an 8 hour training course to be completed within 60 days of the expiration, or is 3 years after your request for license renewal

>Establishes a mandatory insurance that requires you to pay $800/year for liability and losses that may occur while operating a firearm

>Require you to inform the Attorney General if you loan out a firearm and to whom

>If you are in knowingly in possession of an unlicensed firearm, or one owned by someone else who loaned it to you that doesnt have proper registation or did not inform the Attorney General of the loan, you shall be fined not less than $75,000 and not more than $150,000, imprisoned for a mandatory minimum of 15 years and not more than 25 years, or both.

>Bans a whole bunch of "military style rifles"

>Bans any weapon/ammo greater than .50 cal

>Bans any magazines over 10 rounds unless its a .22

>Make the location of all persons owning firearms and where they're kept public information. Like the sex offender registry.
Reasonable; you have to register a car.

>Require ALL gunowners to undergo a psychological evaluation conducted to ensure that the individual is psychologically suited to possess a firearm.
Same thing applies to driving licenses
I'd prefer to see a license only be granted after completing a standardised course with different classes for different types of firearms. If your instructor and examiner don't think you're going to handle the firearm in a safe manner they ain't gonna grant you a license. Same as with a car.

>Allows the Attorney General to revoke your license for any number of reasons and require you to give them all firearms AND ammo
Reasonable. Not sure how I feel about returning the firearm though. Should be required to provide a valid license when purchasing ammo.

>Make the age to own a gun 21
Reasonable, I would suggest granting a license to those aged 18 who have passed a military training course though. Since you know the standards will be higher.

>Establishes a mandatory insurance that requires you to pay $800/year for liability and losses that may occur while operating a firearm
Reasonable; you need insurance to drive a car.

>Require you to inform the Attorney General if you loan out a firearm and to whom
Unnecessary, should instead make the firearm owner responsible if the lendee is unlicensed.

>Fines for violation knowing or unknowingly.
Reasonable. Ignorance is no excuse.

>Bans on style/ammo/capacity
Unneeded, permitted style and ammo should be covered by licenses, can't own a fully automatic unless you have the license. Ammo count should be registered with the local authority provided you are over a certain capacity, and updated regularly. If you need 1000 rounds of ammo the police should know and you should be keeping track of it (and letting them know).

All in all I would say it's reasonable. Most of the "restrictions" aren't far from car ownership. Would prefer to see license structure over banning.

Have to complete an approved course, before being granted a license. Licensees mut have suitable insurance and responsible if they let an unlicensed use their weapon. Penalties if you use/carry it in an unsafe manner. Licenses can be revoked, if your license is revoked and you are caught using/carrying without an appropriate reason it gets taken away.

Licenses available:
Own and use a single shot/bolt-action at 18,
Own and use a semi-auto at 21 (18 with military service).
Burst/fully automatic license after 5 years of continuous ownership (resets if your license is revoked at any time).

Ammo is limited to either 100 rounds per person or 50 per calibre if multiple weapons are owned, which ever is greater. Ammo capacity exceeding this must be registered and updated monthly. Licenses are required to buy ammo. If you're caught over this capacity your license is suspended and excess will be confiscated.

Bullshit.
Owning a firearm is a RIGHT.
Driving a car is a PRIVILEGE.

GOT IT?

Hey fuckwit, driving a car isnt a constitutional right, and you only need to register it if you plan on driving on public roads. You also dont need a psych evaluation to get a license but a practical skills test. And the licensing/insurance requirements werent established by people whose express, stated purpose, was to ban car ownership.

I hope you get aids. Not HIV, but full blown aids; and from something necessary like a blood transfusion.

And when this law (in the unlikely event it should ever pass) fails to have any measurable effect on reducing crime, what follows? Do they register hand tools? Kitchen knives? Boots? Sharp rocks? As long as people want to commit murder and mayhem...a trait that has been around as long as homo sapiens and longer (it is easily observable in the great apes, especially chimps) they will find a way to do so. .45 ACP or a carpenter's hammer, you are just as dead.

Yet, yet fox news is free speech. Which it I guess is. Needed A I believe Supreme court ruling. H.R 127,
will never work. This is beginnin of the FK, not even close. I mean, I cannot explain this. If you think you like gun rights. Here elect people like Trump. It will fail. The NRA file bankruptcy. Failed. Braggin just before soo many members. Your rights are my rights, I guess. You people ar fkups. Ok so gonna take my guns. You folks are fighting against your own interests. Too politically dumb to know it.

Im really not worried about this. It was introduced months ago and is still only in the introductory stage. Most people, even democrats, realize this wont pass. Sure, its appalling that they could introduce this, but theres a 99% chance it wont even get voted on. This wont affect me much. I only own hunting rifles. Id only be affected by all the psychological stuff.
