depends what you want to use it for. For range shooting and whatnot, an AR will do just fine, not to mention it's half the price of an AUG. You can build your own AR for about $900-1000, and that includes tacticool add-ons like grips, folding sights, different stocks, extra mags, etc.

Austrian army fag here. We have the Steyr AUG and it has NEVER jammed once while firing live ammunition. The only time when my aug ever jammed was with training ammo

Ausfag here, not in the army but I have friends who are and they all seem to hate the AUG. From what they've said I think I probably would too, plastic trigger and what not (but then again, I've spent my entire hunting life with an Anschütz).
