Hi sci,
I'm a noob about computers and going to do college of Computer Engineering. I don't know even how to start learning. Can somebody give a tip?

It is Easy
There is 4 main components that is essential for your PC
1st A processor(This is what makes your computer run, Without it the computer will probably not function at all)
2nd A Video Card(however some processors have built in video cards in them either called intergrated or APU's)
3rd A Power Supply(Obviously)
4th A Motherboard(This is where all the components connect and unite together)
Start From Learning that and then gradually learn it from sites that can help you such as tomshardware and techguru.

Data storage is also essential both in RAM and HD format.

The easiest way to start any entirely new field is to study its history and development, and read about the peaple who made it happen. Then you have a grounding and orientation for your technical studies.

Computer Engineering Student 16/07/03(Sun)12:42 No. 16335 ID: 6ce999

Hi, I'm in my 4th year as a Computer Engineering Student and is finishing up the prototype for my Computer Engineering Degree Thesis Project.

As you are taking the same program as I am, I would warn you that Computer Engineering is not the course you want if you want to be in Game Development, Android Application Development or Artificial Intelligence. Those will not be taught in school as a course, but you could certainly enter that field when you want to.

Computer Engineering is a lovely mix of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science. If you love robotics, you've come to the right place.

I'll give this thread a boost later when I get home.

I'm so late that OP probably already finished his career and its an engeneer now

Anyway www.cybrary.it helped me a lot but their classes don't go very indepth, they're just drills to the exam, still they introduce you to a lot of things.

Learn to code in Python or in Visual Basic it has a nice GUI interface you can get to grips with easily. Additionally, you can easily find a few youtube tutorials. Be open with your lecturer and let them know that you are very willing to learn, this will give them a lot more incentive to help you out. I would also recommend Code Academy, it will put you in the right direction. OP, do you have any idea what other things will be on the syllabus?

Arduino is a great place to start! Anonymous 16/12/30(Fri)09:26 No. 16404 ID: 01d2f8

Code academy and cybrary are pretty helpful sites but I really learned a lot building and programming little projects with the arduino mega2560. Jeremy Blum has some great tutorials on you tube to get you started. Also building raspberry pi projects is a great way to get your feet wet. Best of luck to you.

Also use Udemy if you have a little bit of money their courses are very informative and useful. Also very good for Python beginner courses.

Good luck bro

Cybrary is a big meme

t. edgy hacker

Jokes besides though personally I wouldn't recommend it.
You could look into hacking ctf's tbh anon.
Look into pwnable.kr or pwnable.tw :).
Also search for "ctf" and "liveoverflow", I'm confident you'll learn a lot from him.

Senior in electrical engineering here (computer and electrical engineering share about 50% of their curriculum at my uni)
What others said, building a PC is a good idea. I've never had enough money for a PC though and have been coasting through college with a ditched laptop that I fixed.
One hobby I took up when I was figuring out what to study was getting obsoleted PCs off surplus auctions or from family members, lobotomizing them and experimenting with linux distros. You can make your own servers for storage and mail etc.
Another thing to play with is RaspberryPi and/or Arduino projects. There's tons of resources on those and honestly should be the focus of practical teaching in universities (but often aren't)
