The connection between males and females create life itself, as such, in order to delude a man self aware enough to question why his genes should continue to exist, the most powerful delusion is the one that binds you to a female.
Through consciousness itself we should be able to break free from our primal urges, but we can never break free from our affection towards the opposite sex because the continuation of life itself demands, nay depends on it.
We wouldn't be here if man was able to ever break free from love.
And the drug love induces can fuck your mind up to the point where you dream about unicorns farting rainbows.
Why does it matter if it is all just chemicals, everything may be fake for all you know, the feeling you feel is as real as the pain you feel when you get your heart broken.
The sad reality of today isn't just our self awareness seeking substitute for the opposite sex as a surrogate activity to keep our minds from figuring out we literally live in a society hostile to the continuation of life itself and the world we inhabit is the most dangerous one yet when it comes to the genes themselves.
This is sad because it means less people will experience the drug of real love that does not ask questions, for what is there to question about the continuation of life, that is the question.

There's a real connection between you and someone, the only problem is that It'll be so intense you'll forget that its only your brain releasing "happy chemicals".

Love isn't something that happens to you. Love is something you work at together if you want to make it last.

I here this all the time from people who just discovered nihilism and it's an incredibly reductive mindset. You're "just an animal looking to breed" in the same way a book is "just ink on paper". Technically speaking, you're absolutely right: there's no greater purpose to anything we do because it's all just chemical reactions. But if you truly value life, you shouldn't need meaning. Love is great because it's beautiful. Who cares if it's just your brain telling you to find a mate? It's a wonderful feeling and that's all that matters.

True love is more a combination of best friends and ultra commitment. You have to both intentionally try to be weak around eachother and rely on eachother.

It's actually closer to the love you feel for a son / brother than how movies portray it. The type of affection movies portray comes in waves. It's very nice but not the main appeal. My favorite part about my relationship is the teamwork.

Thats funny because when teens try to enjoy romantic love, society shuts them down.
