This book seems too difficult, but I've been told that it is necessary if you're really into literature and wanna start a lifelong reading. Should I drop it or pursue? And what are some of the alternatives to it?

From the title I'm guessing a third grade English textbook would be a good substitute

>lifetime reading

Did someone stop you from reading OR ask to hold an examination in %your_picrelated%? Stop whoring attention and go read somepin' as'ome!

>I've been told

And what if I tell you that your mum is hoe and your dad is cuck?

Srsly, how is rhetoric related to reading? Mb I'm a total retard and "lifelong reading" = being a belles-lettres reviewer - then it has at least some logic. And even in this case you wouldn't need to study rhetorics. Divide spoken and written speach, anon.
