Has there been a period time where so many people have no issue with a soulless harmful thing? Is this what shows we have too many people in the world because they honestly don't think plastic is bullshit?

When else in human history were people overpopulated as all fuck so they constantly dealt with a stupid thing in their home which was culturally destructive and its production almost reproductionally destructive?
