Of the 3? Texhnolyze. Why didn't you add Ergo Proxy to the list, it's very along those lines.

I like Lain and all but Haibane Renmei is a personal favorite. It's hard to go in depth without sounding compelling but I like the uniquely melancholic atmosphere it is.

Because what the shows have in common is Abe, so Ergo Proxy is only tangentially related

Lain. The remaining two were too nihilistic for my taste but I can't deny they're well made (well Hanbei Renmei is a little more mixed but eh).
