Black (PJV)
1:1 And lo, she saith unto me, "Hey, oh," 2 For sheets of empty canvas were before me, yea, untouched sheets of clay; 3 And they were laid out, spread before mine eyes, even as her body once was.
2:1 Yea, all five horizons did revolve about her soul, 2 Even as the earth doth about the sun;
3 Yet now the air which I tasted and breathed hath turned bitter within me.
3:1 Verily, I taught her all things, even everything; 2 And I knew that she gave unto me all that she wore.
3 Yet now do my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds of despair, 4 For all that was, yea, all that was everything. 5 Behold, the pictures of old are now washed in black; 6 And they are tattooed upon everything I see.
4:1 I take a walk without, and I am encompassed round about by children at play; 2 Yea, I hear their laughter, but why doth my soul sear within me?
3 And twisted thoughts do spin within mine head; 4 Behold, I am spinning, yea, I am spinning,5 For how quick doth the sun drop away.
5:1 And now do my bitter hands cradle broken glass, 2 The shards of what was once everything.
3 Lo, the pictures of old have all been washed in black; 4 And tattooed upon all things that I behold.
