# Global Rules
These rules apply on every board unless noted.
- In order to view any content on 7chan, you must be at least 18, or of legal age to view adult material in your country, state, or province of residence, whichever is greater.
- Do not flood or spam the boards.
- Do not post, request, or link to any illegal content; the staff will make judgments accordingly. Examples include Child Pornography (any pornography with someone who is 17 or younger), revenge porn, and illegal copies (including links) of copyrighted content. Violators will be permanently banned.
- Do not use URL shortening services for malicious or misguided intentions.
- Do not post off topic replies, or create threads that are not about the board’s subject.
- Do not start flame wars outside of /fail/ or /b/. Debate is fine, but constant bickering and arguing posts may be deleted. Repeat offenders may be banned.
- Do not post Furry artwork, or anything related to the Furry artstyle on any board other than /fur/. Any posts with Furry content outside of /fur/ will be banned.
- Do not post pornographic materials, or images that would be not be considered appropriate on the SFW ("safe for work") boards. The staff will decide what is considered worksafe. Worksafe boards are not guaranteed to be safe for any workplace.
- Please use proper grammar and spelling outside of /b/. Mistakes are fine, but poorly written posts will be deleted.
- Refrain from trolling outside of /fail/ and /b/. Troll posts will be deleted, and the poster will be banned if this behavior continues.
- Referral links are considered spam. Posting them will result in a permanent ban.
- While we recognize that 7chan started as an offshoot of 4chan, refrain from advertising that you are a refugee if the 4chan is down or you've been banned. Do not post a picture of your ban. Lurk Moar and blend in before you post.
- The biggest rule of all is to use common sense. If you have any questions, please speak to a staff member on the IRC channel. See the FAQ tab on how to join.
